In a place where forest meets the sea, two best friends, both glowing with anticipation, celebrate their parallel journey into motherhood. To honor this special time, we teamed up for a beautiful fine art maternity boudoir photography session. When mother nature gives you a hug like this, you know you’re doing right by her. In the soft blush of dawn’s embrace, she found herself wrapped in the anticipation of motherhood. The garden, in the first bloom of spring, danced with the rhythm of a thousand butterflies, each flutter an echo of every hopeful thought. As the rest of the world awakened to the magic of a new season, she too found herself awakening to the miracle growing within—a trove of endless possibilities.
When the morning mist clears, what remains is a sweet softness of something that is barely there. Let all that is the beauty of nature be your stage while you tell your story. This fine art portrait session, captured on a mix of film and digital, visualizes that most tantalizing voice. Imagine this session as a high school senior session or a graduation portrait session. You are stepping into the unknown. You do it willingly and almost without thinking. This moment of transition stands between the naivety of youth and the cynicism of adulthood–like the solid and familiar rocky shore holding back wave after wave until finally relenting and becoming one with the void.
It’s late Summer in the heart of Niagara and it’s time for a wedding. The fruits of an entire season’s labour are at their peak. Every flower in full bloom. Every facet of the natural world around us showing off. Everything is in its right place.
This wedding day at Maple Meadows Farm began as one of those lazy and hazy summer days. The air was thick with with heat, but you could still feel a hint of the lake breeze fighting its way through. It didn’t keep anyone from enjoying all that summer has to offer. The sweet scent of field grass, leaves rustling in a slow breeze, and the occasional shout of delight from a distant horse reminded all in attendance that this is a bucolic as it gets in Niagara. As guests and family arrived, everyone was greeted like old friends returning to the homestead.
This engagement session, in Niagara, was one of the most romantic walks through the forest and fields I’ve had to privilege of photographing. When two people love each other this much, every pose, every hand squeeze, and every little glance at one another is accompanied by a little flutter in the heart. When you look back at your engagement session photos (or the photos from any session, really), I want you to feel those little butterflies again.
On a crisp Fall afternoon, hand in hand, this couple takes in the last lingering hues of the evening. The air was still filled with the scent of a gentle autumn rain. Under the watchful eye of their puppy, their engagement session unfolded; filled with stolen glances and unexpected moments.
Buckle up. This is a big one. This is a fine example of an early Fall wedding at Cave Spring and Inn on the Twenty. When the air is cool, every hug feels that much warmer. The leaves appear to tremble at the thought of the coming winter, but the sun warms your face. And … Read more

She floats along the ground and dances between the trees. Just like a snowflake twirls, loops, and spins its way to earth, so must our own journey into motherhood be a slow and drifting experience. Amidst all the darkness that over a year of covid brought, a bride and her bridesmaids show us some light. A coldness hangs in the air as a ghost of a wedding season draws to a close. The chill is broken first by the light of a single candle and then kindled by a yearning for the togetherness we all so desperately seek.

Believe it not, sometimes mornings are the best time for a boudoir session. Start the day off with a little pampering and then maybe put on a sweater and shuffle around with a hot coffee. Nothing to worry about except finishing your coffee before it gets cold. Then maybe go back to bed.

A kids portrait session with Afterglow is about uncovering the purest form of a child’s personality. Who they really are — before the influence of the world changes their very nature.
Captured on a mix of digital and film, this editorial session illustrates our incongruent fascination and abhorrence of bygone eras. We relish days we never lived while demonizing those who did. But if we can restrict ourselves to our own eyes, we may yet find beauty in the abandoned as it is slowly overtaken by modernity.
